Level 2 Vocational Qualification 4 day foundation training requirement for licensing.
This is a mandatory course for those involved in the operational use of Public Open Space Surviellance (PSS).
The course is a recognised qualification and has an exam. On the successful completion of the course and passing the exam operators can apply to the
SIA to become a licensed operator. Other specific criteria that need to be met. To establish these visit the SIA web site using the link to the left. The Course content is delivered in a classroom environment but it is necessary to have access to a control room for the candidates to have an opportunity to practice the knowledge gained. Below is the basic criteria to be covered during the CCTV PSS course:
- Introduction to the roles and responsibilities of the CCTV operator and other CCTV staff
- Codes of practice, operational procedures and guidelines
- CCTV equipment and its operation
- ontrol room communications and access control
- Dealing with incidents
- CCTV surveillance techniques
- Fire and emergency procedures
- Health and safety at work
